When someone leaves, or a fix changes hands
Hand over open fixes, remove people, hand over the owner role, and what happens to their work.
Teams change. Here is how to keep every problem moving when they do.
Before someone leaves
- Open Problems and press Fixing. On a computer, each row shows the initials of the person who owns the fix.
- Open each of their problems, pick a new Owner under Fix it, and press Save and assign. The new owner gets an email.
- Then the owner opens Team and presses Remove next to their name.
Hand fixes over first. A fix left with someone who was removed gets no more reminders, and they no longer show in the Owner list.
What stays, and what they see
- Everything they reported or did stays on each problem, with their name in the Activity list.
- Removing someone frees a place on your plan straight away.
- They can no longer open your workspace. If they sign in, FixLoop offers to set up a workspace of their own.
Leaving a team yourself
Ask your owner to remove you. Your account stays, so you can still join another team by invite.
A new owner
Each workspace has one owner. If the owner is leaving, they hand the role to someone on the team first:
- The owner opens Team and presses Hand over the owner role, below the list of people.
- Pick the new owner, tick the box, and press Make them the owner.
- The new owner gets an email. The old owner stays on the team as a team member, and the new owner can remove them if they are leaving.
Stripe's receipts and invoices keep going to the billing email on file. The new owner can change it under Settings, Billing, Manage billing. If the owner has already gone, contact us and we will make someone else the owner.
